Welcome to Coombs Hill Barn, a genuine, 160 year old American Barn imported from Indiana, USA. Disassembled piece-by-piece in 2017 and transported to our magnificent 100-acre property in the shadow of Mt Buller at the foothills of Victoria’s High Country, where it has been lovingly restored and re-built just like it would have been originally in the 1860’s.
Coombs Hill Barn is a truly unique luxury private five bedroom home and luxury wedding venue set on 100 acres of farming land overlooking the picturesque Delatite Valley. The home itself comprises a large open plan area which typically functions as a beautiful Living/ Dining area, but can easily be transformed into the most unique wedding or event space. With its quadruple height vaulted ceilings and exposed timber beams, a 12m high stone fireplace (each piece of stone was collected off the surrounding paddocks) and steel framed surrounding windows (which picture frame views of the valley and mountains), the Great Room is the perfect place to start or end your special day. Interconnected to the outside is a large Deck which features 180 degree views of the surrounding farms, the perfect place for drinks and canapes and to watch the sunset. There is also a multitude of options available for wedding ceremony spaces, all with their own unique views, be it inside in-front of a roaring open fire or outside on the grass with Mt Buller as a backdrop, you’ll be sure to find the perfect spot.
The Barn also includes a large kitchen, 4 luxurious King bedrooms (3 of which have their own Ensuites) plus a 3-person bunk room, reverse cycle heating and air-conditioning, openable steel framed windows, in-floor heating and a custom made 12+ seater ‘Barn wood’ timber table. All Wedding packages include exclusive 3 night access to this award winning property so you can combine your Wedding and Honeymoon in one location.
Please note that Coombs Hill Barn is a dry hire property, so you can make your special day exactly how you would like it with your own choice of caterers, drinks, flowers and decorations. We can assist with a vendor directory, but due to Council regulations are unable to organise Vendors on your behalf.

What type of weddings can you host?
Coombs Hill Barn provides a DIY Style venue for intimate elopements and micro-weddings with full control over styling and vendor choice. We also can host larger weddings up to 100 guests.
How many guests can you accommodate?
We can accommodate from small elopements up to wedding guests at Coombs Hill Barn.
Is there accommodation on-site?
Yes. Coombs Hill Barn is a 5 bedrooms property. The venue includes accommodation for up to 11 guests.
Where are ceremonies held?
Set on 100 acres, you have multiple ceremony options: on the deck with Delatite Valley views, in front of the barn’s fireplace in the Great Room, or out on the grass with stunning views of Mt Buller and the Delatite Valley.
Do your packages provide catering or drinks?
No. The venue operates on a BYO basis. Our packages do not include any food or drinks. You must organise your own catering, drinks, and styling. Coombs Hill can provide a vendor list to help you build your team.
Is there a wedding viewing day or open inspection?
Wedding viewings are held only a few times every year. Interested couples should fill out the viewing request form on our website to express interest and receive updates.
Where are you located?
Coombs Hill Barn is located in the beautiful Victorian High Country town of Merrijig. Set on 100 acres of farming land, we have views to Mt Buller and over the Delatite Valley. We are located approximately 2.5 hours northwest of Melbourne.
What about accommodation for our guests?
There are many options for accommodation in the region. The township of Mansfield is close by with hotels, motels and Airbnbs aplenty. There is also a Sebel resort in Merrijig which can accommodate large groups.
