New York Bridal Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2027: The Trends To Watch
A list of the best wedding dress trends for 2026/2027
1. Minimalism
With Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy’s effortless style arguably the trend of 2026, the clean silhouette has never been more popular.
Minimalism will be huge this year as a bridal trend, and it’ll be all about fabric choices and tailoring. Fabric is doing the heavy lifting, with premium silks, satins and crepes will be the go-to, with clean lines and considered draping the only details needed to create the ultimate in quiet luxury.
2. Ruffles and Bows
Bows and ruffles won’t just be decorative this season, they’re going to become the architecture of your gown. From cascading ruffles to oversized bows, your statement will definitely be made.
Still, decorative bows will have a place in bridal trends for 2027. 3D additions to gowns were seen everywhere, and bows can add a really sweet, romantic element to a gown.
3. Corsetry
Structure, structure, structure! We saw it in almost every designer’s collection at NYBFW Spring/Summer 2027, so you know corsetry is going to be huge this year. Not that it’s making a grand return or anything, it never really went away. But there are new ways to wear a corset, with fluid silhouettes showing this style can work with your body, not against it.
We spotted traditional corsets, fairytale-esque corsets and minimalist corsets, there’s definitely a style to suit everyone.
4. The Basque Waist
The basque waist has come a long way since its Victorian era heyday! In fact, this silhouette was singled out by our designers as the one to watch this season.
Silky double satin will be the material you’ll see teamed with this unique waistline the most, but don’t sleep on lace, either. It’s a beautifully romantic, fairytale-esque silhouette and really flattering.
5. 3D Florals
Your dress doesn’t simply have to be a dress anymore – it’s art. The rise in 3D florals proves that we’re looking for an unforgettable moment, for our dress to bring the wow-factor.
There are so many ways you’ll start to see the 3D floral trend appear in bridal couture, from subtle additions to bodices to show-stopping satin creations.
6. Embellishment
Pearls and crystals will be delivering the individuality you’ve been seeking, and embellishments like these are a key 2027 bridal trend.
From subtle additions like delicate pearls dripping from shoulders and barely-there pearls on sheer gloves, to statement-making shimmer and texture, embellishments can play beautifully with most dress styles, and have you feeling like a princess.
7. Lace
Lace is timeless, but while full lace gowns will always have their place in the bridal world, we’ll be seeing touches of lace making their mark this season. Think lace sleeves, overlays and wraps that add romance without getting too traditional.
Lace can be a beautiful, elegant way to have a more conservative gown for your ceremony, and we saw a lot of removable lace overlays and pieces that added drama or coverage for brides who want the option to hit the dance floor comfortably later on!
8. Statement Accessories
Something that came across in almost every collection was that the bridal accessory is no longer an afterthought. We’re not picking subtle pieces to complement our dress, we’re looking to our accessories to make the statement. Bold earrings, sculptural headpieces, bags you take down the aisle with you, removable neckpieces and overlays will all play a part in your final wedding look, which makes pulling together your dream fit all the more exciting.
You’re not just searching for a dress that feels like ‘The One’, but for accessories that reflect your personal style.
