The Real Wedding Of Karen & Chey – Green Moustache, NSW

Karen was never one of those girls who sat around dreaming about her wedding day. She didn’t have a pinterest board, or a clear vision of what she wanted – that is until Chey proposed.

So excited at the prospect of spending the rest of her life with her person, it also meant that more than a few decisions needed to be made about how their special day would play out. The enchanting gardens of Merribee House was the first item ticked off the list. An easy choice, as Tom grew up on the south coast of New South Wales, it already felt like a very special place to them both. On a chilly May evening, the gardens glowed with the warmth of the love from the people Karen and Chey love the most.

What resulted after a lot of thoughtful planning, was an incredibly heartfelt, whimsical – and above all, fun – wedding day with a hundred highlights, a thousand laughs and a million memories no one lucky enough to attend is likely to forget.

THE PROPOSAL //

I proposed to him on New Years Eve 2020! We had been partying in Melbourne and there may have been a bit of alcohol involved!

The Most Memorable Moment //

Just seeing my husband at the end of the aisle with our pup Hori. The feeling just can’t be described

THE VISION //

We were hit with the covid a few months into our engagement so really just being able to have the important people there was just the most amazing thing. We waited until Dec 2021 as things had started to open up. All the ideas we had pre-pandemic just went out the window.

YOUR DAY IN YOUR WORDS //

Small enough to be intimate but big enough that we felt like the important people were there. Just a perfect stress free wedding that was organised in 4 weeks.

THE ADVICE THEY’D GIVE TO ANOTHER COUPLE //

Go with your gut. We tend to drive ourselves crazy second guessing all our choices. I will say organising a wedding in 4 weeks has its advantages with decision making but it might not be for everyone!
