Planning a wedding is no easy feat. Even if you have the help of a wedding planner, the stress factor can still be high. So it’s understandable that when dealing with crucial tasks such as selecting the perfect dress and finalising the venue location, there’s a chance your skin might be looking a little worse for wear. With that said, we’ve rounded up some of the best facial treatments to give your skin a little TLC before your big day. No matter your location or skin woes, we have a treatment for you.

Thermage

If you want the benefits of a facelift without any downtime, book in for a Thermage facial treatment. You’ll seriously thank us for it! Thermage is a safe, non-surgical and non-invasive radiofrequency procedure that aids in tightening and contouring the skin.

So how does it work? Thermage uses radiofrequency energy to heat collagen fibres in the skin. This in turn helps stimulate the production of your own skin’s existing collagen as well as promote new collagen growth. After three to four months post treatment, you will notice reduced fine lines and wrinkles, improved skin texture and redefined contours along the jaw line.

The great thing about Thermage is you only need a single treatment (30-90 minutes depending on the treatment area) and it’s suitable for all skin types and tones. What’s even more impressive is that the results can last up to three years post treatment. Who doesn’t want that?

Best Thermage Treatment in Sydney: Thermage FLX at The Clinic, Bondi Junction, which you can book here.

Best Thermage Treatment in Brisbane: Thermage FLX at Skin Confidence Clinic, Brisbane CBD, which you can book in here.

Fraxel Laser Treatment

It doesn’t come cheap, but it’s worth it. Fraxel is a laser device used to treat all your skin concerns: wrinkles, scarring, fine lines, pigmentation and sun damage.

A fraxel cosmetic procedure is a little more severe so you will want to allow yourself at least three to five days of downtime. The fraxel device is used to create tiny injuries in the skin to trigger a wound healing response which consequently causes your skin to stimulate new collagen formation.

In terms of how many treatments you need, it will depend on what you are trying to target. Generally speaking, if you’re treating pigmentation you will see results in one to two sessions. If its wrinkles or acne scarring you want to improve, you will need around four to five.

We recommend you give yourself ample lead-time for this treatment, especially if you require more than a few sessions. That way you’re guaranteed to avoid redness, peeling or scaly skin on your wedding day.

Skin-Needling

Think of it as the friendlier version of the ‘vampire facial’.  Skin needling involves the insertion of microscopic needles into the skin to stimulate collagen production and tighten elastin fibres. Skin needling treatments either use a dermaroller (a paint roller with tiny needles around it) or a dermapen (moves needles in and out of skin in a vertical motion). As the needles are applied over the skin, tiny punctures are created within the epidermis and dermis that encourage the skin’s own healing response. Does this involve a little bleeding? Yes, BUT the needles are so tiny that bleeding is insignificant. And the results are worth every single prick. Promise.

Skin needling is non-invasive; however you can expect to experience redness for two-to-three days post treatment. In terms of results, skin needling is great for improving skin’s texture, pigmentation, wrinkles and enlarged pores. For longer lasting results, it’s recommended to have a series of treatments. The amount of sessions will vary for each individual.

Omnilux Light Therapy

For the brides-to-be who prefer something a little less frightening and painful, Omnilux is the treatment for you. Hailed as the anti-ageing, wrinkle-reducing, skin-reviving professional treatment with zero downtime, Omnilux treatment uses pure light to help stimulate your skins natural collagen production and help repair tissue in the skin.

Omnilux offers three light options to cater for different skin concerns. Blue light is best for acne-prone skin, as it helps kill bacteria that cause redness and inflammation of acne in the skin. Revive light works to boost the production of collagen and improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Plus light is used for skin rejuvenation and increases the skins blood flow.

Before you go ahead with any of the above treatments, we recommend booking in a consultation first so that the physician can assess your skin and address any questions or concerns you may have.
