The ‘mid-aisle kiss’ is the photo trend that’s delivering ‘the shot’ at every wedding

As a marriage celebrant, my workload can often go well beyond just the ceremony and the words spoken. You see, in many cases the couple will lean on their celebrant for out-of-the-box ideas and advice on different organisational aspects.

As Editor of One Fine Day Wedding Expo, I also get this kind of inquisition more than most – because hey – I go to 50 weddings a year, including two very large expos in Sydney and Melbourne – so when it comes to wedding trends and ideas that you shouldn’t pass up – I’m pretty much your girl.

So I thought I’d open up my playbook for you and deliver one of the top tips I give my couples ahead of their big day. Many photographers know this trick, and any worth their salt will direct you to it on the day, but just in case they forget, I always like to make my couples well aware ahead of time, so that they know to do it – without prompting.

It’s called, ‘The mid-aisle kiss.’

So how does the ‘mid-aisle kiss’ work?

Basically, the premise is that once the ceremony is over and done with, and the celebrant has pronounced you as married, the bridal party are directed to hang back with the celebrant while the couple descend down the aisle.

The crowd eagerly toss their confetti, or petals and once they reach the middle of the aisle, the couple stops and partakes in a big kiss! A dip is always welcomed here! The more dramatic the better!

The result?

An incredible photo surrounded by the ones you love most, who have the most genuinely emotional and happy looks on their faces as confetti falls around you and you’re kissing each other in a really beautiful gesture.

This is one photo trend you definitely don’t want to miss. It could well be the photo you end up blowing up and putting on your wall at home!

Thank me later.
